The Col des Aravis is a mountain pass in the French Alps that connects the towns of La Clusaz in Haute-Savoie with La Giettaz in Savoie. At 1487 m it is the lowest pass in the Aravis Range of mountains.

  • Easy drive up and good parking facilities. The best you can do after that is to get out of the car and take a hike for a couple of hours. Pretty easy hikes and very well marked. The view is magic. If....  more »
  • Its a great drive from either side. I prefer south to north. Its all a bit cow bell and cow skins at the top with lots of don't park here signs. Just park, get a picture or two the move on Annecy is.....  more »
  • Have a seat on the terrace north side of the road, take a deep breath and look at East: the Mont Blanc. Col des Aravis deserves a detour: out of the crowded town of La Clusaz, you can walk on easy paths to La Croix de Fer, have your lunch (recommended and fair in price) or a simple tea with a freshly baked crêpe. By the way, if you are a ski enthusiast, you’ll find at ease in La Clusaz: today, March 23, all slopes are open...
