Chapelle Notre Dame de la Medaille Miraculeuse, Paris

4.7
At Chapelle Notre Dame de la Medaille Miraculeuse in 1830, Saint Catherine Labouré saw three visions of the Virgin Mary, mother of Jesus. In one of those visions, Mary asked St. Catherine to create a medal with the following invocation: "O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee." The faithful believe the medal, known as the Miraculous Medal, can protect them from harm and perform miracles. The chapel now serves as a shrine for pilgrims. Here you will find the graves of St. Catherine and St. Vincent de Paul, founder of the Sisters of Charity, who operate the shrine. Chapelle Notre Dame de la Medaille Miraculeuse is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our , international travel planner Edition.

  • Visited in February,1993. Deeply spiritual experience. As I prayed for guidance in my life in front of the chair in which Saint Catherine received the beautiful visions of Our Blessed Mother, I knew for certain that Jesus through the prayers of my Blessed Mother would be my guide and Saviour throughout my life. Praise be to God. The only thing unacceptable was the plastic Miraculous Medals in vending machines. How inappropriate, plastic, in vending machines.
  • Beautiful sanctuary worth visiting for Christians. Loved seeing this beautiful place of worship.
