Le Palais Royal, Paris

4.6
Nestled between peaceful, nostalgic gardens, Le Palais Royal features magnificent 17th-century architecture and is the home to contemporary sculptures by Bury and Buren. Because the palace houses the Constitutional Council and the Ministry of Culture, the building is not open to the public. However, you can tour the gardens for free. You'll notice four rows of lime trees planted during the 1970s, chestnut trees dating back to 1910, and more than 450 trees providing shade for two vast green areas. Elegant marble statues include "Le Charmeur de Serpent" carved by Adolphe Thabard in 1875, "Le Pâtre et la Chèvre" by Paul Lemoyne in 1830, and more. Several buildings surrounding the garden have restaurants, shops, and galleries. To visit Le Palais Royal on your holiday in Paris, and find out what else Paris has to offer, use our Paris.

  • Totally found this place by accident. But so cool. The park and surrounding areas are so nice. The center court with all the raised columns is cool . If you are limber enough to get one the taller ones it makes for some great pictures . Then when you leave the eara you come out at the side of the Louvre. Which is kinda neat.
  • Nice place for photos. All pillars are colored like zebra. One row of pillars are arranged by height, others are scattered in all over in orderly fashion. This gives a nice group picture opportunity.
