Wine of the celebrations
This word always evokes Cheerfulness, Parties, Pleasure, Joy, Warmth.
It has baptized thousands of ships, toasted millions of weddings, was
in the middle of the most beautiful events, and on all the special
But this is only a very small part of all that it represents.
Let me take you to Reims, where I was born and grew up, and you will
never taste Champagne the same way ever. The next time , its
effervescence will spray the tip of your nose, its quintessence will
be revealed in each one of its bubbles. And you will find yourselves
in the middle of what really is the soul of Champagne :"The King of
the wines and wine of the Kings".
Then, to approach its divine Aura , the Cathedral of Reims will be the
first wonder you ll be visiting. Undeniable "Masterpiece" of Gothic
art, with its 2303 statues and its " Smilling Angel" , it was built up
on the place where the first king of the Francs: Clovis, was baptized
by St Remi in the year 498.
It s been the corronation place of 25 kings. of 1223 has 1825. Jeanne
D'Arc took Charles VII for his crowning there.
Reims, the Gallo Roman " Durocotorum" with its archaeological
vestiges, its Mars Gate and its Roman forum, whose construction
required to dig chalk pits called " Crayères ", which give its
Chthonian side where light is vanishing into this obscure, fresh and
quiet world , where millions of bottles of Champagne are resting, and
the softness of the " Brut" was created. A hundredth kilometers of
cellar gives life to this under world .
We will visit the Taittinger cellars, Its Crayères are among the most
beautiful, with ruins of the basilica St Nicaise s'crypt, and 2000
years of History.
You will be initiated to the magic of technics and the magic of
Champagne making, followed by a tasting.
We will have lunch at a gastronomical bistrot in an idyllic park.
Then we will drive to the mythical" Marne valley "and its vineyard ,
endemic place of the "pinot Meunier".
We ,of course, will pay homage to Dom Perignon who rests in peace in
his effervescent eternity at the Hautvillers abbey, where this so
divine beverage was made with the best intention.
Then we will go to Ay, a small village, to meet an independent
Champagne maker grower who will share his passion and explain the
alchemy of the terroir in its sparkling wine.
If time is on our side, a small passage at Epernay and its "avenue de
Champagne". The most expensive of the World, with its underground
rich with millions of bottles of some of the largest , Champagne houses,
like Moet and Chandon, Perrier-Jouet, Pol Roger, Mercier, De Venoge…
ect ..... Then we will be back to Reims, and it will be time to take a

Les Bulles de Paris Reviews
This hotel is in the 5th arondissement, across from the Sorbonne, with cafes and restaurants on every block. Due to its central location, even during the week of transportation strikes, we were able..... more »
This hotel was very interestingly decorated with a "champagne" theme and the rooms were typical of the "European" expectation of very small rooms. The breakfast buffet was not expansive but was... more »
My wife and I recently stayed at Les Bulles de Paris and had a wonderful time. The staff was friendly and helpful. We arrived early (way before check-in) and they held our bags until our room was ready. They upgraded us to a bigger room free of charge, and provided a suggested list of thing to do in Paris. The hotel is pretty centrally located and is within walking distance of pretty much anything that you’d need. We highly recommend Les Bulles for your stay in Paris.
A great hotel in a wonderful location! Friendly front desk staff, and the champagne theme throughout the lobby and room furnishings is well done. Good quality sheets and individual room thermostats with Heat and A/C. I will return!
