With more than 700 works displayed in approximately 200 exhibits, Museum Brandhorst is one of Munich's leading modern art museums. Housed in a large, rectangular structure with a multicolored facade, the museum's original collection included works from classical avant-garde artists and post-war European Modernists. The collection has expanded to feature more than 100 exhibits by Andy Warhol--the largest holding of works by the Pop Art artist in Europe. You'll also find 170 works by American artist Cy Twombly. A number of special exhibits pop up throughout the year, many focusing on photographs and multimedia works. Visit on Sundays to get in for just 1 euro. Put Museum Brandhorst and other Munich attractions into our Munich route tool, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • Nice museum. Definitely it is a place which worth a visit. The location of this place is really great. There is a bus stop and a metro station located near this place. What is more, the architecture of this place is really magnificent. Also this building surrounded by a cute park zone where you can rest for a second and continue your journey.
  • Fantastic museum, with a great collection and in a very nice building. Three floors, plenty of space and lots of great pieces of art, a museum shop and a little café .. easy to spend a few hours. You can get audio guides, there's usually also something for kids and on Sundays it's only 1€ to get in (like for many of the museums in the area).
