  • The old church of Baselga (so called by pine forests or pinaitri to distinguish it from the new church) or Ancient Pieve of the Assumption was built before the 13th century as it is mentioned in historical documents of that era. With its construction it took over the seat of the church (at that time it meant the church and the territory on which the Christian community lived, a dimension not only geographical, but also anthropological and religious) replacing that of San Mauro, the most ancient plateau. The appearance over the centuries has changed to become the current one. The main altar, in the Baroque style, is carved and gilded wood; The shovel is the work of Pozzi, an artist who worked on the Piné Plateau in the mid-17th century. It is a simple and elegant abazia, which was remade in 1925 and decorated by Wenter Marini and Matteo Sebesta. It is among the churches most loved and frequented by the population of the plateau, where the first masses of the morning and the performances of the rosary are held, perhaps because its small size makes it take on a very intimate character while preserving intact the mysticism typical of these ancient buildings. The Romanesque bell tower, in contrast to the simple facade, is square and ends with a pointed pyramidal spire. It is the only one in Baselga, because the New Church, built a hundred years ago, does not have a real bell tower. Located in the historic center of the country. Visiting hours: daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (admission free). Difficulty parking.

  • Located in the center of Baselga di Piné, the ancient pieve of Santa Maria Assunta appears for the first time in the documents of the 13th century, but is believed to be much older. It has been reworked several times and now appears with elements of different styles, from Romanesque to Gothic from Renaissance to Baroque. The main altar in baroque is carved and gilded wood, the altarpiece is the work of the Pozzi
