Nestled in a dense fir forest at the foot of the Latemar, Lago di Carezza is a small alpine lake known for its prismatic colors--in the Ladin language it's called lec de ergobando or “lake of the rainbow.” Fed entirely by springs and groundwater, the calm lake is an otherworldly aquamarine color and reflects the mountains above like a mirror. A path runs around the lake, offering hikes with amazing views of the emerald waters and the snowcapped mountains above. A bronze statue of Undine rests at the bottom, watching over the lake. The lake is nothing but real! So clean and the colours are as you see them in the photos. Parking is 1EU/hour. We got there around 3.30pm and had no problem parking. Worth the visit, especially... more »

This is a magnificent lake at Carezza. There is a nearby parking (1€/hr fee) or, better, you can walk from Kareer pass down to the area. The lake is a real jewel but beware it gets supercrowded, so I.... more »
