Housed in Venice's old customs building, Punta della Dogana is now a contemporary art museum. The name refers to the triangular area of the city where the Grand Canal meets the Guidecca canal, but it has now become synonymous with the building and its art exhibits. Previously empty for decades, the building was restored in 2009 by French art collector François Pinault, whose €20 million renovation showcases the building's "industrial and minimalist soul." Stand at the tip of the triangle, enjoying views of the vast sea ahead and the canals behind, before heading into the building for a look at some of Venice's finest contemporary art.     Art gallery was closed when we visited but the views from here across to St Mark's Square are not to be missed. Very beautiful and a good place for photographs.  more »

    Elegant view of Venice from there. It's worth a walk and spend time there. Sitting on the edge of canal. Very nice place for take a photo and view of some small island. Highly recommend.
