One of the largest mosques in the world, Hassan II Mosque is an impressive place of worship and a symbolic landmark of the city. Nearly 1,000 construction workers and 10,000 artists took nearly seven years to complete this structure, known for its highly decorated interior (viewable only as part of a guided tour), rich in Islamic artistic motifs, including geometric shapes and sections from the Quran. The 210 m (689 ft) tall minaret stands above the old town, while the main building looks out across the Atlantic Ocean. • Incredibly beautiful! Definitely worth a visit, probably the only thing worth seeing in Casablanca. The mosque is huge, very impressive. It’s possible to walk around and take pictures. The decorations are stunning and it makes for wonderful pictures. A local told us that the mosque was not built in a stable piece of land and it is apparently sinking. Engineers are trying to do their best to prevent it from sinking, but no effective solution has been found yet. It’s also very nice to walk around the mosque, near the seaside.
  • I LOVED IT!!! It was beautiful. It has a beautiful look inside and outside. I liked the fountains on the floor under the mosque where you clean yourself. It is a very nice architecture. And it was a beautiful experience out there.
