Kick off your visit on the 21st (Thu): hike along Le Sentier des Ocres, snap pictures at Pont d'Avignon, and then step into the grandiose world of Palais des Papes. On the next day, contemplate the long history of Roman Theatre of Orange, then explore the ancient world of Amphitheatre (les Arenes), and then steep yourself in history at Chateau des Baux de Provence.

Most travelers take a trip to Bayeux to see the famed tapestry depicting the legendary Norman Conquest from the 11th century.
You'll explore and learn at Musee de la Tapisserie de Bayeux and Airborne Museum. Get some cultural insight at Normandy American Cemetery and Cathedrale Notre-Dame. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Bayeux: Pegasus Memorial (in Ranville) and Musee du Debarquement Utah Beach (in Sainte-Marie-du-Mont).
