With a long history of producing regional wines since the Romans brought grapevines here during the first century, so many people consider Bordeaux to be the wine capital of the world.
Get in touch with nature at La Cote des Basques and Corsaires Beach. You'll enjoy a bit of beach vacationing at Plage de l'Uhabia and Plage des Cavaliers. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Bordeaux: Biarritz (Planete Musee du Chocolat Biarritz & Plage du Miramar), Anglet (Les Sables d'Or & Eglise Sainte-Marie) and Cathedrale Sainte-Marie de Bayonne (in Bayonne). Manchester, UK to Bordeaux is an approximately 5-hour flight. You can also take a train; or drive. Due to the time zone difference, you'll lose 1 hour traveling from Manchester to Bordeaux. Chablis is a town and commune in the Yonne department in Burgundy in north-central France.
On the 12th (Sun), do a tasting at Chablis Vititours, then explore the historical opulence of Chateau Ancy-le Franc, then take in nature's colorful creations at Abbaye de Fontenay, and finally do a tasting at La Cave du Connaisseur. On the next day, learn about winemaking at Domaine Sylvain Bouhelier, then do a tasting at Domaine La Croix Montjoie, and then do a tasting at Domaine PL & JF Bersan.

The Wine Capital of the Burgundy region in the Côte-d'Or department, Beaune is a walled city with features remaining from the pre-Roman and Roman eras in eastern France.
Visiting Owl's Trail and La Roche de Solutre will get you outdoors. Change things up with these side-trips from Beaune: Cascades du Hérisson (in Menetrux-en-Joux), Jardin Darcy (in Dijon) and Plage du Grand Lac de Clairvaux (in Clairvaux-les-Lacs). There's still lots to do: see the interesting displays at Hôtel-Dieu Museum Musée de l'Hôtel-Dieu, learn about winemaking at La Cave de l'Ange Gardien, snap pictures at Grand Pont d'Ornans, and take in the dramatic scenery at La Cascade des Tufs.

Get in touch with nature at La Plage du Havre and Plage Des Bains. You'll get in some beach time at Sword Beach and Plage de Benerville sur Mer. Change things up with these side-trips from Le Havre: Calvados Christian Drouin (in Coudray-Rabut), La Grande Cascade (in Le Neufbourg) and Hippodrome de Clairefontaine (in Tourgeville). Expect little chillier weather when traveling from Beaune in July: highs in Le Havre hover around 24°C, while lows dip to 16°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 22nd (Wed) to allow time to drive to Fecamp.
