A global center of finance and transportation, Frankfurt is perhaps best known for its futuristic cityscape.
Get out of town with these interesting Frankfurt side-trips: Schloss Heidelberg (in Heidelberg), Wurzburg (Der Hofgarten, Marienburg Fortress, & more) and Cologne (Chocolate Museum & Cologne Cathedral). There's still lots to do: wander the streets of Altstadt, take in the spiritual surroundings of St. Jacob's Church (St. Jakobskirche), contemplate the long history of Goethe House, and admire the landmark architecture of Romer.

Sydney, Australia to Frankfurt is an approximately 25-hour flight. You can also do a combination of flight and train; or do a combination of train and flight. The time zone difference moving from Australian Eastern Standard Time (New South Wales) (AEST) to Central European Time (CET) is minus 9 hours.
