Wander through Zemi Valley among naturally formed rock pillars, caves, and fairy chimneys. The walk along the southern edge of the valley between Goreme and an open-air museum provides panoramic views over the countryside. See houses, storerooms, pigeon niches, and churches carved into the rock along the way. Look out for a little rock-hewn chapel with ceiling paintings. Poplar trees cast shade over the trails, but be sure to wear hiking boots and sunscreen, and carry a bottle of water. In one steep area you'll have to hold onto a rope.     Great valley to hike. It takes around 4 kilometres to walk by the fairy chimneys and reach the beginning of Pigeon Valley.  more »
