The belfry of Old North Church & Historic Site is where Paul Revere got his signal for the midnight ride. It is the oldest church still standing in the city and is classified as a National Historic Landmark. The whitewashed interior reflects light from the many clear windows. The layout of the building was inspired by British architect Christopher Wren, the man responsible for rebuilding London after the great fire. Consider taking a behind-the-scenes tour with the church staff through the crypt below. Inquire about tours at the church. Very hard to photograph if you don't walk 3/4 of the way up the block in front of it. Got photos of the plaques in front of it. Beautiful but hard to get to. more »

Simple yet worthwhile place to visit. Interesting placards and signs let you in on a unique historical perspective of both Boston and our colonial era. Won't take long to walk through it, but you'll leave with a greater appreciation of our nation's origin.

Good stop along the freedom trail. The church has a lot of history and the guides provide a nice overview. Believe it was $8 per person to get in. The church ‘boxes’ (see photo) were pretty interesting and overall worth the stop and was nice to take a break along the freedom trail. Nice bathrooms and friendly staff.
