  Cliff dwelling close to the canyon floor. Believe it was in the latest Lone Ranger movie. We visited via a jeep tour, although fenced off you can get an up close view.  more »

  We went to the overlook for White House Ruin and purchased paintings from Ramone Yazzie-an incredible artist! Then we descended on the trail down into Canyon De Chelly to White House Ruins. The ruins....  more »

  Did this trail almost 10 years ago. Very warm & dry. Hill all the way back up. But amazing views at bottom. Saw Navajo Hogan house/farm and a wild horse family. --- The day before I car-camped to splurge savings on horse guided tour. Was amazing seeing different ruins and nature. Girl outfit did tour $45 back then w/ free breakfast. 2-3hrs = sore bum! But SO WORTH IT!

  Great views from the overlook. There's clearly marked trail here to get down to the ruins. I believe this is the only trail you can take on your own, without a guide, you're on Navajo land here. Always take plenty of water with you.
