Known as the Blue Ghost, USS Lexington Museum on the Bay saw service in the Pacific throughout World War II. The ship's name recalls a much earlier war, the Revolutionary War and the Battle of Lexington. The ship was decommissioned in 1991 and opened as a museum. Much of the original ship has been restored using salvaged materials from other ships. It received National Historic Landmark status in 2003 and is permanently docked and open for viewing. Check out interactive displays, such as the MEGAtheater, similar to an IMAX, that is installed in forward aircraft elevator space. If your a Navy veteran like me or just into history you will love it cool just to see history. It nice also for people who have never been up close to military equipment and nothing is better than an aircraft carrier. It's got lots of stairs you must climb and is hot in a lot of places, need to be a bit is shape to go up and down the stairs but not to bad

Amazing!!! I loved visiting when I was a kid and to take my family back and see everything and wander around the ship with my husband was awesome! The guy who was up in the captain's deck was extremely knowledgeable and use to serve on the USS Lexington! It was amazing to year his stories and to pick his brain about a ton of things! I loved that they have an elevator for wheelchair bound people so my son could still come up to the flight deck to see all the planes and wonder around!
