Meander among manicured lawns and forests overlooking the Mississippi River at Minnehaha Park, one of Minneapolis's oldest parks. Visit the site's famous 16m (53 ft) waterfall, and enjoy a picnic in one of the many areas available. You can take a trail that leads from the upper falls all the way down to the river and appreciate elm, silver maple, and oak trees along the way. Don't forget to check out the Longfellow House Visitor Center, which houses a small collection of historical photographs and provides useful information on the area and its history. I went fishing in the creek like evry day this summer lol and I caught a ton of fish and had a lot of fun. And I think next summer I will do the same thing. more »

I love this place. I go there with my kids. There is a spot where you can play in the water. The water was too cold the day we went to do that. But if you walk down the paths you end up by the river where there is a beach. It is beautiful here.

Great place to visit with the family. I love that it's dedicated to Longfellow's Song of Hiawatha, and the gardens are lovely to walk through and take pictures. There's a playground for kids as well, and the walk down to the river is really fun too.
