Walk through the historic core of Old Split to see one of the best-preserved Roman remains in the world: the Diocletian palace. The town joined the list of World Heritage Sites in 1979. Enter the open-air central area of the palace and climb the campanile of St. Domnius cathedral. Enjoy a panoramic view of Split, nearby islands, and Marjan hill. Don't miss the chance to rub the big toe of the giant statue of Gregory of Nin, outside the palace gate, and make a wish. Other sites to see include 12th- and 13th-century Romanesque churches, medieval forts, 15th-century Gothic palaces, and Renaissance and Baroque-style palaces. • Beautiful country really enjoyed. Things are very nice urban decay in time to leave. Very very difficult to get Taxi back to the hotel as they stop to Uber from coming to pick us up.

  • Rich in history, architecture and full of restaurants and interesting sites, you can certainly spend 4-5 hours inside the walls of the old city and never get bored!! Strongly advise getting a local...

  • Fruit Square in Split is a vibrant and bustling area with plenty of outdoor restaurants and cafes to enjoy. The beautiful architecture and lively atmosphere make it a must-visit spot in the city. Don't miss out on this unique and enjoyable experience!
  • This might have been our favorite place in Croatia!! Such a gorgeous square, just inside the gate of Diocletian's Palace. Great food, drinks, and shopping right here. Our VRBO overlooked this square, and it was perfect looking out the windows every morning and evening.
