Christiania, Copenhagen

On a weekend in Copenhagen, we had to go to Christiania. Main place is cool with activity and animation but streets are more full of dealers than authentic people. I would still recommend to go there just to see if you have time.

Well, the less I say about this place, the better. An utterly poor place to visit and far from the true reflection of a 'free society' that I would expect. The contrast is interesting too, went down a road filled with Copenhagen's finest urban drug dealers selling unregulated rubbish, with young tourist girls who could be no older than 12 being offered drugs. To top it all off, drunk men all over the place at 1pm on a Saturday, and the rundown nature of this park meant that I high tailed it out of there very, very quickly after getting pictures. Don't bother visiting, it's just a rundown slum at this point. A shame really after all of the amazing stories that I heard about this place over the years.
