Musee Granet was opened to the public in 1838, on the property of Saint-Jean-de-Malte. It still shares gardens with the estate of Saint Jean’s church. This mighty structure houses works of art, including paintings by Jean Auguste Dominique and Paul Cezanne, and sculptures depicting pre-Roman settlements north of Aix. This is a small museum that punches above its weight and is nicely curated. Perfect size for a leisurely visit and has some pieces from well-known artists such as Cezanne and Picasso. Loved that...

Next to a lovely church, this museum combines gems of an archeological collection with paintings (incl. Cezanne and Picasso) from several periods incl. a room for works of Giacometti.

Nice exhibitions. There were even special exhibitions that only exist for a period of time. The staff was very friendly. You could see many pictures of Picasso. In addition, with each ticket there is an additional free ticket for another exhibition in the city
Very interesting museum. We where supprised by the extensive Egyptian artifacts in the exhibit. The explanation's for them are shown in both French and English. A audio explanation is available as well for a small fee. Generally a well laid out museum.
