Create an itinerary including Paroisse Saint Nazaire
A Roman Catholic cathedral dating from the 13th century, Paroisse Saint Nazaire resembles a Gothic-style fortress, including square towers and fortified walls replete with gargoyles, wrought iron gates, and a decorated facade. Enter to see the interior's columns and Romanesque capitals, friezes, Gothic windows, statues, and an altar in polychrome marble. Also look for the six large paintings inside--three depicting scenes from the life of Moses and three showcasing scenes from the life of Constantine and his mother, Saint Helena. Some walls are partially covered in ancient frescoes, which were damaged at one time and then partially restored. • It Is a very beautiful church with astonishing Architecture and good descriptions of the meaning behind it inside. It is viewable from most of the city and adds to the Character nicely. It is possible to go upstairs to the Tower of the Church which would have made our visit perfect but sadly this wasn't possible at the time of our Visit. Anyways still a must if you visit Béziers.
  • Beautiful cathedral with pretty panoramic views from the entrance. There's a table with an employee set up in the entrance to arrange tours, though not linked with the church, which I found kind of surprising, as I was seeking for info from the church. The surrounding businesses and area are fine for service, though it's a kind a sleepy and rundown town.
