Domaine de la Sangliere, Bormes-Les-Mimosas

Fantastic winery! Pauline took us on a wonderful tour in the jeep and told us the story of the winery before giving us a tasting. It was fantastic! We will definitely be back!

La Sangliere is the hidden gem of the Ramatuelle region. Nestled between two more famous wineries, La Sangliere is a more modest winery, but produces wines of exceptional quality at a par with or superior to its more famous neighbors. Situated on multiple hectares of land, the Domaine is absolutely stunning. We chances upon the owner, Rémi who (along with his colleague Anya) gave us a tour of the estate, including a climb to the top of the domaine and its amazing sea views. The wine is completely organic, and they use bats instead of chemicals to kill pests! We were graced with an exceptional tour, learning about the Domaine, it’s grapes and the terroir of the region that makes the wines so exceptional. La Sangliere produces crisp whites and delicious reds, but for us the Rosé was the highlight! Absolutely amazing and especially at the price point: less than its neighbors, but for us of superior taste. They also produce some organic olive oils that are available at their beautiful tasting room. The staff couldn’t be more friendly or gracious, and the tasting pours were very generous. For the money this is the best tasting (and drinking) experience in Ramatuelle. Don’t miss it!
