Monastere Royal de Brou is the burial place of French royalty, and the architecture of this structure recalls the ghosts of the royal personages enclosed in its crypts. You will discover an extravagant Gothic church with a mosaic tiled roof as the centerpiece of the monastic grounds. The church was commissioned in the 16th century by Maragaret of Austria, daughter of the Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian. In 1922, the municipality installed an art collection in the monks' former quarters, where artwork from the 13th to the 20th century adorn the Renaissance walls. Great way to spend half a day or even a full day. Beautiful architecture and tombs, not to mention a lot of interesting history. Highly recommend.

Took my breath away. The artisitic detail on the choir area, the beautiful stained glass windows (whose features included "textured" glass, making the clothes look like velevet or silk!), and the prominent paintings by famous artists, were all so fantastic. This place will delight and surprise any visitor.
