The Musée des Confluences is a science centre and anthropology museum which opened on 20 December 2014 in the 2nd arrondissement of Lyon, (Rhône), France. It is located at the southern tip of the Presqu'île at the confluence of the Rhône and the Saône, adjacent to Autoroute A7, and comprises part of a larger redevelopment project of the Confluence quarter of Lyon. The deconstructivist architectural design, said to resemble a floating crystal cloud of stainless steel and glass, was created by the Austrian firm Coop Himmelb(l)au.By using our Lyon travel itinerary planner, you can arrange your visit to Musee des Confluences and other attractions in Lyon.

Friendly staff, nearby parking lot, and amazing exhibitions for all tastes and people, from children to adults. The exhibitions cover a variety of fields and periods of history, from prehistorical times to the consumer society and its negative impacts on our world and health + planet. Enriching and well-explained. Excellent value for money (kids enter for free). Will gladly come back

Stunning setting, the museum itself is fun but doesn't really get to the heart of anything as it seems more focused on the educational/entertainment value than on the scientific/historical. Some sections even have a resident scientist explaining some of the exhibits more in detail. Great way to spend a few hours, and the building is worth the visit alone.
