Great buildings, great variety of art. Don't miss the decorative arts musee in another wonderful building around the corner, opens in afternoon, combo ticket.

Huge and impressive collection. Mostly classical and modern painting and sculpture. Somewhat out of time/place for the gallery is the really wonderful collection of Pierre Soulanges paintings. You might need multiple days to get through the whole collection . So bank on at least half a day for your visit.
A breathtaking at gallery with artworks of the highest quality in an impressive building. I couldn't see it all in one visit and was so disappointed that when in returned there on the last day of my holiday, it was closed. I had forgotten that European museums shut on Mondays. Free entry on first Sunday of the month, otherwise about €9.
