Located in a former Beaux Arts railway station that was constructed around 1900, Musee d'Orsay features the largest collection of impressionist masterpieces in the world. Some of the most notable paintings on view include "Starry Night Over the Rhone,” by Vincent van Gogh, "The Card Players,” by Paul Cézanne, and “L’Absinthe," by Edgar Degas. The majority of the exhibits are French art that dates from 1848 to 1915, including photographs, paintings, furniture, and sculptures. While tours are not offered in English, there is an interactive floor plan in English that you can access to create a personalized, printable tour of your very own. Musee d'Orsay is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our , world travel planner Edition.

Always a total treat! Such a lovely calm space. This museum is so well designed and the pieces are expertly presented. You could spend hours just enjoying the space alone! A must on your trip!

Far easier access here than the Louvre. A beautiful old train station that has been turned into an art museum that is simply unrivaled. Plan on spending hour after hour here. So much to see!

Hands down the most dramatic and impressive art museum I have ever been to. In my opinion, better than Louvre. It has some of the largest and most gorgeous paintings I have ever seen. Sculptures everywhere. Recognizable art even for a novice. Impressionist collection is breathtaking. A unique experience!! Museum is built in a former train station so there are gorgeous super high vaulted ceilings. Priceless collection. A must-see when in Paris. The upstairs restaurant is both darling and an artwork itself. Fabulous meal, setting, and views. Expensive but not overpriced.

A concerted train station that is a museum now. Really enjoyed seeing the art. Some classics are here that will really take your breath away. Even outside of the art, the architecture of the building itself is breathtaking. Much less crowded than the Louvre and much easier to do in a day. Recommend to any tourist in Paris.
