Housed in a 19th-century mansion decorated in period style, Musee Jacquemart-Andre features the paintings, sculptures, furniture, and antiques collected by Édouard André and Nélie Jacquemart. Your visit to the mansion includes five sections, each with its own ambiance and works of art. The State Apartments reflect their fascination with the French school of painting and 18th century decorative art. The informal Apartments are decorated in a refined style, while the Private Apartments on the ground floor give the museum the feel of a family home. The Winter Garden shows off the art of entertaining, while the Italian Museum features sculpture, as well as Florentine and Venetian galleries. Lesser known museum that seemed really popular with locals: Tiepolo staircase was a must-see and the rest of the place was worth breezing through!

This museum is a hidden gem. Tourists overlook it because they look for “The Great Attractions”. It is a splendid look at a beautiful Haussmannian mansion that has been carefully restored to its original state. The art collection is outstanding and quite eclectic; the architecture superb - who cannot ooh and aah at the double staircase in the winter garden room. Use the audio guide or Rick Steve’s audio play to get full enjoyment of this museum.

Fantastic museum that transports you back to a different time period and social class! Ingenious mansion with removable walls and a stunning set of double staircases. Audio guides were excellent.
