Built on a rocky edge at the beginning of the 12th century, La Tour Cesar protects the former Earl’s Palace and dominates the valley. The building itself gives you a glimpse of the everyday life at the tower eight centuries ago, and the view from the top offers an enchanting landscape view. Be warned that climbing the stairs is no short task, and the passageway can become quite narrow.
In addition, La Tour Cesar is a strong symbol of power for the Earls of Champagne. The keep’s highly complex layout gives it a unique and colossal appearance, making it one of the most original stately dwellings of its time. It used to be a watchtower, a prison, a bell tower, and a place of military retreat. Start your trip to Provins by creating a personalized itinerary on Inspirock.

Really enjoyed my trip to Provins with friends. The tower was a great historical experience. We got to go inside (I believe we purchased tickets) and it was very cool like going back in time. It was a bit narrow so be mindful of that.

Interesting remaining of the flourishing France history, while not having an extremely big visiting surface it seemed to me to be much bigger on the inside than it looked from the outside. It currently costs around 4.5 euros to get in, but do not miss the pass which costs 12 euros and if you want to visit the whole city and it's monuments or places of interest it is probably worth the price. One should not miss the city center close to the tower, this one is an incursion in the old and classic French architecture and one can be transported back in time to the times of medieval era even if just for a bit of time.
