Create an itinerary including Beny-sur-Mer Canadian War Cemetery
Pay your respects at Beny-sur-Mer Canadian War Cemetery, a conglomeration of war graves dedicated to soldiers killed during the D-Day invasions and the subsequent Battle of Normandy. The fierce combat that followed the Allied landing on the shores of France in 1944 left many dead on both sides, and this cemetery serves as the final resting place for more than 2,000 Canadian troops. Wander the quiet garden grounds designed and maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, and view the neat rows of headstones and ornate crosses stretched out before you. Take a quiet moment of reflection at one of the on-site chapels, or simply climb up to one of the viewing platforms for a better view over the cemetery and surrounding countryside. You can use the website to find a specific name or grave, if you wish. Make Beny-sur-Mer Canadian War Cemetery a part of your Reviers vacation plans using our Reviers vacation planner.

  • Powerful, impactful, moving and so, so important. Beyond visiting Juno Beach, this cemetery demonstrates the true cost, the fulsome price paid by many, many brave Canadian soldiers. Tragic, how many of the graves show that these boys, as young as 18, died for freedom. Bring Kleenex.
  • So important to pay our respects to those who sacrificed their lives for our freedom.
