The Royal Opera (L'Opera Royal)
For an evening of performances--opéra, concert, or ballet--head to The Royal Opera (L'Opera Royal). The main theater and opera house of the Palace of Versailles, it is one of the finest 18th-century opera houses in Europe. Performances frequently celebrate the works of the Baroque and Classical periods, which are most closely associated with the Opéra Royal and the Palace of Versailles. The building features extraordinary acoustics and decor. The Opéra Royal is directly linked to the history of the many theatres at Versailles and the theatrical stagings in 17th- and 18th-century France. Not sure if the Opera de Versailles is free to visit on Sundays or free everyday, and even if it isn't, the Opera House is definitely worth a visit. Unlike the Paris Opera, you can visit the entire ring(colossus?) and walk in front of the stage. Or you can just sit in the Opera, with the staff's commentary, you can feel the chambers of the king of French and nobles. You can take your kids to listen to the popular science of the staff. But remember to keep quiet when passing by the actor's rehearsal room🤫

Amazingly picturesque place. I could have spent hours in there, and having just found out that shows are run at the Opera House in Versailles, it makes me want to plan a trip around watching something in that beautiful hall. Absolutely breathtaking.
