Alain Despert, Bora Bora

Alain’s art is gorgeous and truly one of a kind. Not to mention Karen and Alain were the best hosts I’ve ever experienced at an art gallery tour! Karen picked us up from the dock and dropped us off, and when we were there, they gave us a full tour of their home, gallery and studio, provided delicious espressos, and showed us video of Alain’s incredible accomplishments throughout the decades (with Alain providing live personal commentary of his experiences!). They showed us every individual art piece they had (the ones that weren’t on exhibit elsewhere) and I loved hearing about Alain’s art and inspiration directly from the genius himself - that’s a first for me, for someone at this level. So humble, so kind, so happy. What a lovely experience! Thank you both for your warm welcome and kindness. Hope to see you again someday.

My wife and I have 3 paintings by Alain Despert and are thrilled with them. Their vivid colors and images make them focal points in our home. We are building a new home in the NY Fingerlakes and have designed the stone fireplace in the great room to highlight his very large painting of a rooster, our favorite.
