Walhalla celebrates laudable and distinguished people and famous personalities throughout 2,000 years of German history, including politicians, sovereigns, scientists, and artists "of the German tongue." Designed by architect Leo von Klenze, the building was completed in 1842. It now contains 65 plaques and 130 busts of people. The museum overlooks the Danube, so consider taking a boat ride to catch the best views. Make your Donaustauf itinerary with Inspirock to find out what to see and where to go.

  • Impressive, outstanding building. A few minutes by car from Regensburg away. Two parking places only a few minutes by feet away. Or you ride with a bike along the Donau. Perfect for a nice trip. Wonderful point of view.
  • It's quite a spectacular site, the views while you approach are magnificent. There is a cost to park and when you get to the top, if you want to look inside there is also a cost. I would just peek in inside as it is only that one room and not really worth the cost of going in. But I highly recommend coming having a picnic and taking in the great views of the Danube!!
