The Alter Südfriedhof (Old South Cemetery) also known as "Alter Südlicher Friedhof" is a cemetery in Munich, Germany. It was founded by Duke Albrecht V as a plague cemetery in 1563 about half a kilometer south of the Sendlinger Gate between Thalkirchner and Pestalozzistraße.

    Stumbled on this cemetery and it was great. It's pretty big and obviously a place where the locals come for a bit of peace and quiet - or to walk their dogs or kids. Very much worth a visit...

    Peacefull and relaxing oasis in the middle of the inner city of muinch. The older part is especially interesting give its general age of the late 1700 to erleay 1800 every Garvestone and mausoleum is highly individual. A great place for a break after a long shopping trip.
