Create an itinerary including Museum Brandhorst
With more than 700 works displayed in approximately 200 exhibits, Museum Brandhorst is one of Munich's leading modern art museums. Housed in a large, rectangular structure with a multicolored facade, the museum's original collection included works from classical avant-garde artists and post-war European Modernists. The collection has expanded to feature more than 100 exhibits by Andy Warhol--the largest holding of works by the Pop Art artist in Europe. You'll also find 170 works by American artist Cy Twombly. A number of special exhibits pop up throughout the year, many focusing on photographs and multimedia works. Visit on Sundays to get in for just 1 euro. Put Museum Brandhorst and other Munich attractions into our Munich route tool, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • We purchased the 12 Euro ticket to visit three museums - Pinakothek de Moderme (Modern), Museum Brandhorst (Contemporary), and the Alte Pinakothek (Classical). By far, this was our least favorite...

  • Ok museum. Super small, maybe an hour it’s enough for completing the visit. The part I liked the most was Cy Twombly permanent exhibition. There are maybe four Basquiat paintings and many...

  • Put this one on your bucket list, while you're staying Munich. The exhibitions are always impressing and insane. Right now there's a exhibition about the development of the human body in art from the 50s till now. Certainly i would recommend to visit this one.
  • Art pieces were great. A museum visit should be an experience though. The personnel in the museum made it impossible to enjoy. The guards were talking loadly about private matters with each other and showed no respect for people to enjoy. Sadly not going there again.
