Watching over the Arabian Sea, Gateway of India stands as perhaps the city's most recognizable symbol. The imposing gate, which reaches a height of 26 m (85 ft), reminds visitors of the grand architectural legacy the British colonial empire left behind. Note that the basalt gate fuses several different architectural styles, including Roman triumphal features and local Hindu and Muslim aspects. You can wander through the gate to view the domed ceiling and see the inscription above the arch, dedicated to the visit of King George V and Queen Mary in 1911. • Beautiful architecture and it’s clean and not moldy or mildewy like some buildings/structures can be. All the gates and security around it make it a bit hard to navigate but it’s well worth small...

  • An early morning spectacular. If you want to witness the true beauty of the monument with less crowd, it’s best to visit during the morning. With the sun rising in the backdrop and the golden lit-up sky, it can’t get more beautiful than this. Plus it’s such a great stretch to get some workout done.
  • This place is best to visit in evening or morning. The structure is symmetrical and looks awesome when viewed from sea side. I would suggest that you should travel in ferry. It will be a great experience if you have never gone inside sea. Also you will get some good views of sea and Taj hotel. Just one thing that if you love photography, you will have to click a lot of photos to get good shot building as there are always lots of people visiting there.
