A result of a landslide that blocked the Rienza River, this clear alpine lake is known for its abundance of fish--you can purchase a license on site. Paddleboat rides and guided tours are also available--both are great ways to see the swans and other wildlife that call this lake home. A snack bar at the water's edge offers refreshments and a place to relax, and a campground invites visitors to stay the night. Continue along the lakeside path to find a carefully maintained World War I soldiers' cemetery.
