Fumone's Castle, Fumone

I visited the old place 10 years ago and i loved it at the time, sorry this time i didnt get the name of the greek lady guide, she was very well versed on the history of the old place, superb and maintained italian stile garden, if you think what they had to go through to grt it done. Well worth going back to visit it and see the old town how it has developed

This is the castle where Celestine V was in fact imprisoned after refusing his election to the papal soil. More than that, Fumone was an incredibly strategically important location that transmitted smoke signals (hence its name ‘Fumone’) to alert the Eternal city and its surrounding of invasions that regularly threatened the area. Wonderful medieval (and more ancient even) marvel, so beautiful one could decide to leave their heart here).
