Dive Ocean, Biyaadhoo Island

I do not rate the dive sites (kandooma is quite impressive) but the dive center: -no clear responsibilites (two dive Center managers who don‘t along with each other well), staff uninformed -Management avarage friendly -poor equipment in bad condition (regulator made strange noises, jacket leaked air) -expensive (85$ for checkdive. Reason: You must be able to orientate at the house reef. Strange, it‘s just a wall. You can go left or right -6 dives „Package“ gives 5$ discount. Really? Thema better don‘t give discount at all -Management nearly forces divers to fill in evaluation-paper. Why? If there was another dive Center on the Island we wouldn‘t have chosen Dive Ocean. Unfortunately it‘s the only dive Center and it will just keep doing what is does.

We dived with the Dive Ocean in Biyadhoo during our stay in the island. We did three dives at the house reef, Napoleon reef and Cocoa corner, all with the excellent instructor Gabriele. We saw reef sharks, turtles, napoleons, tuna, sea horse, nudibranches, lion fish and other local fauna. Their equipment was in good condition and available in many sizes. Although not planned, we ended up by doing the Deep dive module of the PADI Deep Diver Specialty course. We cannot but praise their organization, safety standards and customer service.
