Discover the historical heart of the city at Medina of Fez, the oldest neighborhood in Fez, protected as a World Heritage Site. Founded as the capital of the kingdom by the Idrisid dynasty in the 8th century CE, the walled part of town includes a wealth of historical monuments and buildings flanking narrow, winding, bustling streets. Head to area's souks to haggle for traditional clothing, spices, and ornaments, or take in scenes of everyday life from the comfort of a local cafe. • When you first arrive everything is massively overwhelming, the sights, sounds, smells, everything. What makes it even more overwhelming is the constant pressure being applied to you by the local boys. My advice: tune them out, just smile, say thank you and politely ignore. They will soon get the message and mostly leave you be. Once that’s done, soak it up, it’s a pretty wild, unforgettable experience.
  • Nice place. But DO NOT take guide inside(who is oficial). He took us only to the shops, and tried to steal us,and than he called several young men to be around us. We ran to leave there. Horrible experience!!
