Visit the final resting place of the founder of the city at Zaouia of Moulay Idriss II. According to local legend, the body of Moulay Idriss II remained uncorrupted 500 years after his death, when the people built a shrine around the tomb. The early 14th-century structure features a traditional Muslim style, with a number of intricate ceramic decorations and hundreds of different candles. Some believe that visiting brings good luck, but only Muslims may enter. Non-Muslims can admire the exterior and catch a glimpse of the interior through the doorway.
