The National Ceramics Museum is housed in the Kechla citadel, which was built by the Portuguese in the 16th century. The majority of ceramics housed here has been carefully handcrafted and finished under the hands of skilled Safi artisans. Also you will find sections with pieces from archaeological excavations retrace the contributions of different civilizations to this art form practiced since the Neolithic period.
