Trip Planner: Europe / Portugal / Central Portugal / Coimbra District / Coimbra / Portugal dos Pequenitos
At Portugal dos Pequenitos, explore a miniature world displaying scaled-down versions of some of Portugal's most important monuments and buildings. The attraction was built in 1940 in honor of the nation's people, history, and cultural influence. While best suited for children, who will enjoy interacting with the exhibits and feeling large in this small world, adults will also find the historical value of the displays interesting. View a copy of the famous window from the Convento de Cristo in the historic city of Tomar, various monuments from the capital of Lisbon, and traditional houses. Check out the costume museum which includes over 300 pieces of miniature clothing, the naval museum full of tiny ships, and the furniture museum with small pieces handcrafted from exotic woods. Also, stop by the different pavilions dedicated to the former Portuguese colonies. The park lacks covered areas, so keep this in mind on hot days. A disappointing experience that was terribly overpriced. The idea is good and we've been to other miniature villages in Europe, but this one simply did not deliver.

It's a beautiful place to view the architecture of historic buildings in Portugal in a miniature style. This lovely concept allows adults and children to know how the significant landmark buildings in Portugal look and some information about them. The site is picturesque, with enough space for moving around and enjoying the site. Adults and children can enter the buildings and read more information about the building and its associating attributes. If you want to ease yourself when pressed, there's a public toilet. Additionally, when you feel hungry or need something to drink, there's a vending machine where you can purchase drinks and snacks. Overall, it's an excellent place to hang out as a family.
The structures where larger than the mini size we expected. There was more to see and it was more enjoyable than I anticipated. Even our 2 children (7 & 1) had fun. We entered just after the place opened, on a Saturday, in Autumn. No waiting. We would haved liked more information about everything we saw. Wear sensible shoes. Walk on one side all the way to the back where young kids can play and then walk back on the other side. Souvenirs were few and very expensive. For us, the professional photo was worth it.
