Create an itinerary including Monasterio de San Martin Pinario
A Benedictine monastery, Monasterio de San Martin Pinario is the second-largest religious structure in Santiago, and has been largely rebuilt so that little of the original structure remains. Look for the cloisters inside the church, as well as the altarpiece that tells the stories of Benedictine saints. The gardens are especially peaceful: you can have some tea or read a book there. Modern rooms and facilities are available for those who wish to stay overnight at the monastery. • While it has an entrance admission, it was affordable & worth every cent. Highly recommended. The place is beautiful. As it's a museum really enjoyed being able to go places in the church we would not normally be allowed. Wish there was an audio tour in different languages or a pamphlet.
  • No visitors only clergy and seminary students. Nice bldg. Close to cathedral. I believe the closure to public became effective during Covid to present.
