Cross through Puerta de Bisagra to see how it looks from both inside and outside the city, and to appreciate its interior. This mighty gate is of Moorish origin but was rebuilt in the 16th century, not for defensive purposes, but to demonstrate the great power of the emperor. On the city side, look for the doubled-headed eagle that is the focal point of the coat of arms for Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor. On the outer side, look for city’s coat of arms. Beautiful place to visit. Make sure you plan your visit by knowing where to park and locating the escalators to go up and down to the top of Toledo. The walk can be challenging.

Beautiful piece of "How it was".. I imagined the Crusades at each turn. Alot of steep up and down hill walking but there is an esculator available.
