  • It was a manor house built in the 16th century in which Sr. Miguel de Cervantes lodged in 1594 during his stay in Vélez Málaga while working as a tax collector. Due to his stay in this town, Cervantes wrote some words referring to that city in his most famous book, "El Quixote" reciting the following words: - "¡Gracias sean dadas a Dios, señores, que a tan buena parte nos ha conducido! Porque si yo no me engaño, la tierra que pisamos es la de Vélez Málaga"-. It is currently the headquarters of the official school of languages, and also, there is a museum about Cervantes and María Zambrano in it. This historical monument is opened from tuesday to saturday from 10am to 1pm and from 6pm to 8pm.
  • One room with excerpts from the manuscripts and videos playing, telling Cervantes' story. Unfortunately my Spanish is not good enough to follow the videos or to read the display boards so I missed a lot of what was on offer. A Spanish couple were quite engrossed and seemed to enjoy the experience.
