Lisbon, Portugal — 3 nights

Called "Oporto" by many, the city of Porto along the Duoro River lent the country and Port wine their names. Portugal's second-largest metropolis dates back to the 4th century, representing both a rich cultural past and industrial present through its architecture and style.
Kick off your visit on the 10th (Fri): take in the waterfront at Ribeira do Porto and then look for gifts at Livraria Lello. On your second day here, get the lay of the land with Walking tours, take in the spiritual surroundings of Porto Cathedral (Se Catedral), then take in the views from Ponte de Dom Luis I, and finally get into the urban bustle at Palacio da Bolsa.

A city of rich Moorish heritage, Seville is the cultural and financial center of southern Spain, and the site of numerous festivals throughout the year.
On the 13th (Mon), contemplate the long history of Royal Alcázar of Seville, steep yourself in history at Plaza de España, and then admire the striking features of Torre del Oro. Keep things going the next day: admire the natural beauty at Parque de Maria Luisa, then take in the architecture and atmosphere at Catedral de Sevilla, and then wander the streets of Barrio Santa Cruz.
