Montbard — 2 nights

Montbard is a commune and subprefecture of the Côte-d'Or department in the Bourgogne region in eastern France.Montbard is a small industrial town on the river Brenne. Start off your visit on the 12th (Fri): take in the spiritual surroundings of Abbaye de Fontenay, then meet the residents at Parc de l'Auxois, and then don't miss a visit to musee du costume Avallon. On your second day here, step into the grandiose world of Chateau Ancy-le Franc, do a tasting at Chablis Vititours, and then contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Basilique Sainte Madeleine.

Proclaimed the first "green city" of France and labeled a "Town of Art and History," Besancon has plentiful mountain and river activities for you to enjoy.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Besancon: Nans-sous-Sainte-Anne (Source du Lison & Creux Billard), Les Planches-pres-Arbois (Reculee des Planches & La Cascade des Tufs) and Salins-les-Bains (La Grande Saline - Musée du Sel & Mont Poupet). There's still lots to do: admire the striking features of Citadel of Besançon, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Grotte-Chapelle de Remonot, admire the sheer force of Cascade de l’Audeux, and make a trip to Porte Noire.

Le Frasnois — 3 nights

Le Frasnois is a commune in the Jura department in Franche-Comté in eastern France. Venture out of the city with trips to Musee de la Boissellerie (in Bois d'Amont) and Lac de Vouglans (in Orgelet). There's lots more to do: admire the sheer force of Cascades du Hérisson, contemplate the waterfront views at Belvedere des Quatre Lacs, take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Pic de l'Aigle, and get outside with Les Gorges de la Langouette.

Dijon — 4 nights

Perhaps best known for its locally produced mustard, Dijon also makes a wonderfully flavorful crème de cassis, or blackcurrant liqueur, and boasts excellent examples of regional architecture with polychrome roofs made of tiles in terracotta, green, yellow, and black placed in geometric patterns.
Venture out of the city with trips to Beaune (La Cave de l'Ange Gardien & Hôtel-Dieu Museum Musée de l'Hôtel-Dieu) and Chateau de Savigny-les-Beaune (in Savigny-les-Beaune). Dedicate the 23rd (Tue) to wine at some of the top wineries in the area. There's still lots to do: trek along Owl's Trail, stop by La Route des Vins, explore the world behind art at Musee des Beaux-Arts de Dijon, and steep yourself in history at Maison Milliere.
