On the 23rd (Mon), soak in style at Turkish baths, then stop by Ensemble Artisanal, then contemplate the long history of Medersa Ben Youssef, and finally admire the masterpieces at Maison de la Photographie de Marrakech.

If you are flying in from New Zealand, the closest major aiport is Menara Airport. Expect a daytime high around 35°C in May, and nighttime lows around 18°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 23rd (Mon) early enough to go by car to Essaouira.

The laidback town of Essaouira, known for its forceful trade winds, attracts Moroccan and foreign tourists alike with its sweeping beaches and atmospheric, labyrinthine medina, a World Heritage Site.

Start off your visit on the 24th (Tue): take a pleasant ride with a tour on horseback, see Surfing, Windsurfing & Kitesurfing, and then wander the streets of Medina of Essaouira.

You can drive from Marrakech to Essaouira in 2.5 hours. Other options are to take a bus; or take a shuttle. Expect slightly colder weather when traveling from Marrakech in May: highs in Essaouira hover around 26°C, while lows dip to 18°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 24th (Tue) so you can go by car back home.
