Male — 1 night

©
The tiny but densely populated city of Male represents a contrast to the laid-back beach resorts found in much of the rest of the Maldives.
On the 10th (Sun), hunt for treasures at Male Fish Market, then discover the deep blue sea with a scuba or snorkeling tour, and then admire the landmark architecture of Hukuru Miskiiy (Old Friday Mosque).

Make your Male itinerary with Inspirock to find out what to see and where to go.

Sanaa, Yemen to Male is an approximately 19-hour combination of flight and ferry. You can also do a combination of car, flight, and ferry. The time zone changes from Arabian Standard Time (AST) to Maldives Time (MVT), which is usually a 2 hour difference. Expect somewhat warmer evenings in Male when traveling from Sanaa in July, with lows around 30°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 10th (Sun) so you can travel to Vihamanafushi.

Maldives travel guide

3.9
Scuba & Snorkeling · Beaches · Shark Diving
Maldives has come to be seen as a quintessential island holiday destination, with entire sand-circled islands owned by resorts, who manage each part of the island's environment to give it the look and feel of paradise. The clear waters surrounding the islands offer plentiful dive sites, rich in tropical fish and coral formations, with the smaller, less-populated islands surrounded by the richest marine environments, largely undisturbed by industry and tourism. Larger islands here offer an array of bars, restaurants, and clubs--their higher population means they also feature religious sites and markets selling local produce.
