Chinguetti is a ksar or a Berber medieval trading center in northern Mauritania, located on the Adrar Plateau east of Atar.Founded in the 13th century as the center of several trans-Saharan trade routes, this small city continues to attract a handful of visitors who admire its spare architecture, scenery and ancient libraries. You can drive from Ouadane to Chinguetti in 2.5 hours. Another option is to drive. July in Chinguetti sees daily highs of 47°C and lows of 39°C at night. On the 26th (Tue), you'll travel to Atar.

You can drive from Chinguetti to Atar in 1.5 hours. Expect a daytime high around 47°C in July, and nighttime lows around 39°C. You will leave for Nouakchott on the 7th (Sun).

Nouakchott, which means "place of the winds" in Berber language, serves as the capital and largest city of Mauritania, and one of the largest cities in the Sahara.

Nouakchott is known for sightseeing, parks, and shopping. Your trip includes some of its best attractions: kick back and relax at Plage de Nouakchott, take in the waterfront at Port de Peche, hunt for treasures at Marche Capitale, and contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Haye Mohamedia Mosque.

Getting from Atar to Nouakchott by car takes about 6.5 hours. Other options: drive. Traveling from Atar in August, expect Nouakchott to be a bit cooler, temps between 38°C and 29°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 20th (Sat) to allow enough time to travel back home.
